Amazon has the Honeywell 7-day programmable WiFi Thermostat on sale for $79.  

After purchase you can apply for the  SCE Smart Thermostat Rebate which will give you a $75 bill credit with the possibility to get another $40 bill credit!

This is a fairly base model but it does the job!  Once installed, you can control your a/c from your smartphone via the Honeywell app.  If you own an Alexa device, you can set it up to allow you to voice control your a/c!  "Alexa, set the thermostat to 78 degrees."  It's that easy!  

We use it mostly on our way home on a hot day.  We don't leave the a/c on when we are away, but we don't want to come home to a hot and stuffy house either.  We get on the app about 20 minutes before we get home, and by the time we are home, it is comfortable enough for us to not complain.  We have saved money and increased our comfort level greatly!
